This weekend the Uber Series Barcelona 2021 took place! Haven’t you been there? It was wonderful!
32 Participants competed in the tournament trying to reach the Top, although only 8 made it. It was a success and an absolute attendance record, filling 95% of the capacity and 100% of the registrations (due to COVID protocol, the event had a capacity limit of 35 participants of which 3 could not come but had registered) and demonstrating once again that the community of players in Spain is unmatched. Currently this has been the second largest and most attended Wanderer tournament in Europe, being only surpassed by the third edition of the Uber Series itself, which had 42 participants.
From the organization we want to thank you, the community of Force of Will Spain, for making this event possible. Thank you very much. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did watching you play.
After a very long day of tournament, in the final Sergio Hidalgo Valenzuela and Bernard Gwenael faced each other, both playing different versions of Dante, Fallen Angel (TST-054) & Carlina (TST-075). In a disputed final with many twists and explosive moves, the invitation was won by Sergio, congratulations to both of them!
You can see the final standings here.
UBER SERIES 2021 – RULER BREAKDOWN

17 different Ruler or Ruler combinations participated in the tournament, with Violet, Atomic Automaton (ADW-030) and the combinations of Almerius (MSW-002) & Moojdart (MSW-042) and Dante, Fallen Angel (TST-054) & Carlina (TST-075) being the most played.
Since the format was Wanderer and for the vast majority of players a new format, instead of showing the Top8 decks we are going to show and explain the archetypes of the most innovative decks represented in the Top8 one by one, making a honorable mention to Top9 since it did not enter the Top due to tiebreakers. Let’s start!
Carlina Dante Midrange
- Creator – Sergio Hidalgo Valenzuela
- Representation in the Top8: 2 places
- Best position: Top 1
The combination of Carlina (TST-075) and Dante, Fallen Angel (TST-054) has proven to be overwhelming. These two Fallen Angels together have three very different playing styles: they can either go out and win the game at full speed by employing Vergilius, Rebel against Satan (TST-063), or maintain control of the board by employing card abilities (remember Carlina can only play one spell per turn, but abilities she can play as many as she wants as long as she can afford the cost) such as Angrboda, Giant of the Setting Sun (DBV-003), Aramaki & Togusa (GITS2045-004) and Izanami, the God of Life (AO1-007). Finally, you can always do judgment and turn both rulers astral at full speed and exchange them for Satan (TST-094) to end the game in no time.
Violet Null Combo
- Creator – Francisco Ariza Gómez
- Representation in the Top8: 2 places
- Best position: Top 3
This version of Violet, Atomic Automaton (ADW-030) is very different from what we’ve seen in New Frontiers. In this version we will use our J-Ruler’s ability to discard our entire hand and draw many cards at once, putting the abilities and/or draw spells on the chase one by one (Everfrost (ADW-033), Charlotte’s Protector (CFC-039), Gleipnir, the Red Binding of Fate (SKL-098) and A Voice from the Void (TST-023)). Once that’s done, we use Alecto, Unstoppable Fury (TST-024)‘s [Null] ability to force our opponent to remove his entire field and then discard his entire hand, all at instant speed! It is a very fun to play and very powerful deck, in which all cards draw one when discarded or played. A relevant detail: A Voice from the Void (TST-023) can be played without paying its cost as long as it is the last card in your hand when you are playing it. Try it!
Almerius Moojdart Unsealed
- Creator – Alejandro Gonzalo Velasco
- Representation in the Top8: 2 places
- Best position: Top 6
The Six Sages are still very strong in this format, this time with Almerius (MSW-002) and Moojdart (MSW-042). This deck abuses the [Seal] mechanic, which unlocks powerful card effects when we have enough Magic Stones, or in this case, Pandora, Queen of Miracles (ENW-009) on the field. Thanks to this resonator, all the [Seal] of our cards and Light spells will be unlocked, being able to play cards like Number Thirteen, Anti-Magic (ADW-088) without paying its cost, or The Mysteries of Almerius (ADW-093) to recover three cards from our graveyard, or The Mysteries of Zero (ADW-094) to destroy 5 annoying entities (which are not Magic Stones). To top it off, the deck still has the ability to turn the game around by using the extra turn generated by The Final Stance (PofA-111) when put in the field by Almerius [J-ruler] (MSW-002J).
Welser Turbo Fog
- Creator – Alberto Adrián Berenguel
- Honorable mention: Top 9
The last mention of the day goes to Welser, the Progenitor of Magic (EDL-074). This control-combo deck tries to accelerate the magic stones in play to unlock the powerful judgment of our Ruler. To do so, we will use cards as diverse as Yggdrasil, Top Tourist Destination (ROL-020), Blessing of Yggdrasil (SKL-053), or Guardian Dragon of the Kingdom (ADW-051). To survive against aggressive decks we will run multiple copies of spells to prevent damage or recover life, such as Amaterasu’s Foresight (LEL-002), Intimidation (PofA-001), Lumia, Princess of Rebirth // Wings of Light and Darkness (ROL-005), or Foment of the World Tree (TMS-055). Once the judgment is done, we will search for the card The Mysteries of Milest (ADW-027) with Oz, the Great Wizard (TAT-065) to end the game slowly but surely.
And that’s it for today! Once again, thank you very much. The Uber Series will be back in the next season, along with many other new features and surprises for 2022. Maybe we’ll even have a Wanderer Grand Prix! For now we’ll leave you to enjoy the Game of Gods spoilers! See you soon!
